It's probably not often that grown men are moved to tears, not by the sports or races on the television, but by the television itself. But at the Santa Fe Station Race and Sports Book, it seems almost plausible.
A large -- although large seems like an understatement -- 114-foot video wall (featuring five screens) runs nearly the entire length of the book, with the ability to be split up into so many combinations that the possibilities are dizzying. The main event, both literally and figuratively, can be broadcast the largest, with smaller games peppering the screens around it. Equally important games can share the same amount of space. Games taking place on opposite sides of the country can butt up against each other, on the same screen. It's enough to bring a tear to a sports fan's eye.
And even in all its gigantic glory, the video wall isn't the only television option in the book. Individual screens for racing and other separate sets for sports reflect the action that the information on the electronic display only hints at.
Orange, couch-like chairs put the comfort of your couch to shame much the same way the video screen dwarfs your own home entertainment system. And the Turf Grill, located just to the side of the book offers some of the best food you're ever likely to get in a sports book.
Although it's up to you pick the actual winners, choosing the Santa Fe's sports book seems like a good place to start.
